Terms of Service

Usage agreement for EC Trade services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using EC Trade services (edencom.net website and ECT EVE Assets desktop application), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and EC Trade regarding use of our services and supersede any prior agreements.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use EC Trade services, consistent with EVE Online's age requirements. By using our services, you represent that you meet this requirement.

If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.

3. Service Description

EC Trade provides fan-made tools for EVE Online players, including item databases, economic reports, interactive maps, buyback services, and the ECT EVE Assets desktop application for asset management.

These services support gameplay in EVE Online, a massively multiplayer online game. All references to "ISK," "assets," "contracts," and similar terms refer exclusively to virtual items and currency within the EVE Online game world. These virtual items have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real currency.

All content and data (including reference data, market prices, and economic reports) is provided "as is" without warranty. We make no claims regarding accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.

4. User Conduct

Users agree to:

  • Use the service in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Not attempt to disrupt, compromise, or reverse engineer the service
  • Not use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service
  • Not use automated systems or bots to access the service without permission
  • Not misrepresent your identity or affiliation

5. Virtual Items and Currency

Important:EC Trade services interact with virtual items and currency ("ISK") within the EVE Online game. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Virtual items and ISK have no real-world monetary value
  • Virtual items and ISK cannot be exchanged for real currency through EC Trade
  • All valuations and prices displayed are estimates for in-game reference only
  • EC Trade is not responsible for any loss, theft, or destruction of virtual items or ISK
  • Transactions involving virtual items are governed by CCP Games' Terms of Service

We disclaim any and all liability related to virtual items, including their estimated values, loss during transactions, or any disputes arising from in-game activities.

6. Buyback Service

The following terms apply to our buyback service:

  • Quotes are estimates based on current market data and subject to change
  • Quotes are valid for 24 hours from generation
  • Contract value must match the quoted reference code
  • Contracts must be assigned to ECTrade corporation [ECTRA]
  • Include the reference code in the contract title
  • Only include items from the original quote
  • Certain items are excluded: SKINs, apparel, rigs, blueprint copies, crystal ammunition, and low-volume items

The buyback service is provided "as is" without warranty. Quotes are estimates only and we make no guarantees regarding pricing accuracy. We are not responsible for contracts submitted incorrectly, items sent outside of valid quotes, or any in-game losses related to the buyback service.

7. ECT EVE Assets Desktop Application

The desktop application is provided under these additional terms:

  • The application is open source and provided free of charge under the MIT License
  • You are responsible for the security of your own computer and EVE Online credentials
  • We are not responsible for any loss of in-game assets or ISK
  • Market prices and valuations are estimates only
  • The application stores data locally on your device; we do not have access to it

ECT EVE Assets is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no claims regarding the accuracy of asset valuations, market prices, or any calculated data. Use of the application is entirely at your own risk.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

ALL EC TRADE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that: (a) the services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (b) any information provided is accurate, complete, reliable, or current; (c) any defects will be corrected; or (d) the services are free of viruses or other harmful components.

Any reliance on information provided through our services is strictly at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EC TRADE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS LESS.

This limitation applies to all claims, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EC Trade and its operators from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the services; (b) your violation of these terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including CCP Games' Terms of Service; or (d) any content you submit or transmit through the services.

11. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution: Before initiating any formal dispute proceeding, please contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

Class Action Waiver: TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT AS PART OF ANY CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.

Time Limitation: Any claim or cause of action arising from or related to use of our services must be filed within one (1) year after such claim arose, or be forever barred.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these terms or use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you retain any mandatory consumer protection rights under the laws of your country of residence.

13. EVE Online and CCP Games

EC Trade is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to CCP Games hf. EVE Online and all related logos, images, and content are the intellectual property of CCP Games hf.

We operate under CCP's Developer License Agreement and Content Creation Terms of Use.

EVE Online and the EVE logo are registered trademarks of CCP hf. All rights reserved worldwide. "EVE", "EVE Online", "CCP", and all related logos and images are trademarks or registered trademarks of CCP hf.

14. Discord Community

We operate a Discord community server at discord.gg/dexSsJYYbv as a community hub for EVE Online players. This server is provided for the benefit of the community and is not a core EC Trade service.

By participating in our Discord server, you agree to:

  • Abide by Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines
  • Treat other members with respect
  • Not share illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Not harass, threaten, or impersonate others
  • Follow any server-specific rules posted in the Discord

User-Generated Content: Messages and content posted by users in Discord are the sole responsibility of those users. EC Trade does not endorse, verify, or assume liability for any user-generated content.

Discord is a third-party platform. We provide no warranties regarding Discord's availability, security, or functionality. We reserve the right to remove users from the server or delete content at our discretion. We are not responsible for any disputes, losses, or damages arising from Discord interactions.

16. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. Upon termination, all provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive will remain in effect, including warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.

17. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of our services after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

18. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
